Literary achievements

I write poetry and short stories. Throughout my life, I have entered many literary competitions and achieved success in a number of them.

At the age of eight, I won third place in the national competition Svět očima dětí (The World Through Children’s Eyes) for a video about the state symbols of the Czech Republic.

When I was ten, I also placed third in the Dívka s kolem (The Girl with a Bicycle) literary competition. The competition was organised by my home district of Prague 8 to commemorate a fourteen-year-old girl who was executed in 1942 for supporting the anti-Nazi resistance. I researched her story and wrote about one of the most significant days of the Czechoslovak resistance from her point of view. My story was later published in Jitka Neradová’s 2022 book Statečnost je ženského rodu (Courage Is Feminine). I have also won the regional round of the Požární ochrana očima dětí (Fire Protection Through Children’s Eyes) competition several times.

In 2025, I won the national U všech Grimmů! competition commemorating the famous fairy-tale authors, the Brothers Grimm. My story took the form of a conversation between the two brothers and revisited the beginnings of their fame. It captured the moment when their fairy tales were gaining recognition, yet were considered too cruel for children to read.

In 2026, I won the Markétina dopravní výchova road-safety competition. My story was based on the real memories of a paramedic who helped rescue two adolescents after they were struck by a high-voltage electrical discharge while playing on the roof of a stationary railway carriage.
